Publication of historical research of merit in the Carnot Collection
From 1997 to 2009 the Carnot Foundation has granted a 750€ prize to the authors of the selected manuscripts. The Carnot Foundation has also underwritten the publication cost of these texts.
The objective was to acknowledge historical texts of importance treating one of the five themes grouped around the unifying title of:
“Men, Ideas and Means of Modernity, late 18th to early 20th century”
— History of applied sciences and technology
— History of scientific teaching and of state civil servants in technical fields
— History of Humanities
— History of centrist political ideas
— History of Parliamentary Assemblies and State Administration
A maximum of 4 books were published per year.
The texts selected are published by the Presses Universitaire de Rennes (PUR) in the Carnot Collection.
